World No.1 Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic enjoyed some high-spirited banter as they team up for Team Williams in the rally for relief in Melbourne. On Wednesday, the top tennis stars came together to help raise relief funds for the damage caused by the Australian bushfire.
Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios, Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Petra Kvitova and Caroline Wozniacki stepped up for the exhibition in Melbourne.
Funny banter between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic
Nadal and Djokovic partnered to play against Team Wozniacki’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. When the Serb was serving during the fast-forward tiebreaker, Nadal gestured the middle finger to his partner while standing at the volley.
Nadal said “I’ll go here”, showing the index finger and said “You’ll go here”, showing the middle finger. The big screen also captured it, which left the crowd burst into laughter.
“Please camera can you show Rafa’s finger where he told me that I should go,” said Djokovic in jest.

Rally for Relief Funds
The Rally for Relief has helped raise $4.8 million for the Australian bushfires. “I got goosebumps when you said that number,” said Nick Kyrgios in an interview.
Australian Open 2020 Rally for Relief was part of the broader Aces for Bushfire Relief program. The Aces for bushfire relief was launched by Tennis Australia last week at the ATP Cup 2020.
The initiative has seen $100 donated for every ace served at the ATP Cup matches in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney. The Adelaide International, Brisbane International, Hobart International and Canberra International was also part of the programme.
The Aces for Bushfire Relief campaign will also apply to the Australian Open 2020, which commences next week.
